December 6, 2017 - Liquigas and Brixia Finanziaria, active in Italy in motor fuel distribution sector, inaugurated their first LNG service station in Fiorenzuola d'Arda, in the province of Piacenza. With this initiative Liquigas, already active in the distribution of LNG for domestic, residential and industrial use, also enters the heavy land transport sector while Brixia goes in the LNG final uses sector. The new service station, which also provides CNG, was born thanks to the collaboration of two leading players in Italy in the field of fuel distribution. It is located in a strategic geographical area thanks to the presence of important communication infrastructures, as well as a lot of production realities and logistics hubs. In particular, with reference to motorways, Fiorenzuola d'Arda is served by the A1 and A21 and A15. The highlight of the opening ceremony was the refueling of one Iveco's New Stralis NP 460, that has a fuel autonomy of up to 1600km. The plant is the fourteenth started in Italy and the sixth in Emilia Romagna. "Liquigas was one of the first companies that believed in the potential of LNG and that proposed this fuel on the Italian market for the industrial sector, developing a strong know-how, which is now also available for the automotive sector." Said Andrea Arzà, CEO of Liquigas. "LNG is an important element of innovation in the transport sector, thanks to its characteristics (efficient and environmentally sustainable), I think this is why it will play an increasingly important role in the automotive sector in Italy” Said Giuliano Paterlini, Managing Director of Brixia Finanziaria.
