Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd has delivered the first liquefied natural gas bunker ship to operate in Singapore, the FueLNG Bellina, ordered by FueLNG, the joint venture between Keppel Offshore & Marine and Shell Eastern Petroleum(Pte) Ltd. Russia’s Gazprom Neft also announced progress on the construction of the country’s first natural gas bunker ship.

Carnival and Siem Car Carriers’ LNG fleets grow with Mardi Gras and Aristotle

Finnish shipyard Meyer Turku has delivered the 180,000-tonne LNG-fuelled cruise ship Mardi Gras to Carnival Cruise Line in a live virtual signing ceremony. Siem Car Carriers’ (SCC) Aristotle, the second of two LNG-powered pure car truck carriers (PCTCs) in the SCC fleet, also began its maiden voyage from Emden, Germany, to North America.

Novatek Gas & Power Asia and the Japanese Saibu Gas successfully completed at the beginning of December the first delivery of LNG in an ISO container to the Chinese Tiger Gas. Endesa, a subsidiary of Enel, the leading electricity group in Spain, will build a coastal depot for LNG bunkering in the port of Los Barrios, in the bay of Algeciras (Cadiz), using the pier and port area historically used for the handling of the coal needed for decommissioning power plants. Similar situations are also present in Italy, in all ports serving Enel’s coal-fired power plants, as in Genoa, so much so that last July the electricity company set up the new Enel Logistic team, with the aim of enhancing these areas.
