The first Russian small-scale LNG refueling vessel, with a capacity of 5,800 cubic meters, has completed sea trials and is expected to join Gazprom Neft’s fleet in the second half of this year. The ship will operate mainly in the Baltic Sea for ship to ship supplies at the ports of St. Petersburg, Ust-Luga and Primorsk.

The initiative is part of the Spanish LNGHIVE2 strategy coordinated by Enagás as part of the European CEF mechanism, which will provide funding equal to 20% of the construction cost for approximately 11 million euros. A similar initiative is being finalized for a second bunker vessel which will be dedicated to the port of Barcelona.

Sunday 25 October 2020 is a day that will remain in the history of the development of direct uses of LNG in our country. In fact, in the port of La Spezia in Liguria, the first supply of liquid methane to a large tanker vessel took place successfully. The ship supplied was the Costa Smeralda, flagship of the Costa Crociere fleet, the largest in the world using LNG.

Nauticor, a subsidiary of the Nordic energy company Gasum, conducted a ship to ship LNG bunkering operation for a product tanker in Germany on last May. The bunkering operation for the product tanker Ramelia took place in the port of Brunsbüttel at the river Elbe. The operation was the first bunkering operation since Nauticor became a part of Gasum on April 30, 2020.
