LNG buses running in Pordenone

ATAP, the local public transport company of the Municipality of Pordenone (Friuli) has acquired 15 LNG buses of the Italian Bus Industry (IIA) that will gradually enter into service in the coming months. The vehicles will travel between 500 and 1000 kilometers with a full tank, depending on the number of cryogenic tanks adopted, from two to four, positioned on the roof of the vehicles. The seats, compared to the traditional buses in use in the Friulian city, pass sa 25 to 35.

Wärtsilä to supply a major LNG/bioLNG production plant for transport in Germany

Last September, the Wärtsilä Group has been awarded a major contract to supply and construct a plant for production of CO2-neutral liquid transport fuels. The plant will liquefy gas from the natural gas grid to produce carbon-neutral LNG. It will have a capacity of approximately 100,000 tons per year and located in Cologne, Germany.

In Emilia Romagna, not only TPER (Transport of Passengers Emilia Romagna), already active for years in the use of LNG, but also the Forlì-based START Romagna chooses liquid methane as its first option. The Veneto Region also arrives, with the projects of the ATV (Verona Transport Company). Among the suppliers of the vehicles, ItalScania is joined by IIA (Industria Italia Autobus, formerly Breda Menarini). The technological innovation of HVM (High Vacuum Maintenance), manufacturer of cryogenic tanks, was decisive, allowing them to be positioned on the roof of cars.
